It was cloudy all day yesterday, but a few miles south it was clear all day. There was lovely cloudscapes for a lot of the day.
The cloud started to clear at sunset.
I took the opportunity to take photos of my anemometer,
at top of recycled ESB pole.
As is usual, pictures don't do it justice

Was surprised to see a small bit of mammatus

Great pictures, looks like you've got a good open area for your AWS.

I've got a better site than most for anemometer, and yet its calm a lot, hence the cold temps a mile from the sea. The sensor suite is a little lower and slightly more sheltered than the screen, but its rare the temp differ by more than 0.3C

Super snaps MM,the only way i could explain the mammatus clouds would be mountain waves or eddys created when the wind hits a mountain/hill.No CB's yesterday.

And I captured all of them in that snap. Just a tiny patch.
