Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Damien Richardson Sacked by Cork City

    :(
Cork City have parted company with manager Damien Richardson after both parties reached an agreement that will see Richardson leave the Turner's Cross club.

Richardson had taken Cork to the High Court in order to prevent them sacking him after falling out with the new directors of the club.

However a financial package was agreed today and Richardson described himself satisfied with the settlement, but insisted that he was unhappy to be leaving the club.

Richardson enjoyed a relatively successful time at Cork, delivering the eircom Premier League title to Turner's Cross in 2005 and helping them lift the FAI Cup this season with a 1-0 victory over Longford Town.

With Bohemians on the hunt for a new manager after yesterday's sacking of Seán Connor, Richardson will inevitably be linked with the Gypsies, while Alan Mathews is believed to be in the frame to take over at Cork.

Yeah, it's in the eL rumours thread too.

Anyway, Dolan was approached by Arkaga to return, and offered a massive package for it, but he's happy enough with Setanta and working with Mick Wallace at Wexford Youths.

Also, a good few of the senior City players made it clear to the new board that if Dolan was in, then they were out. In fact, a few City players indeed told me that too, the night of the FAI Cup final.

Arkaga are looking for a similar "character" to both re-inject some life into the club, and to try to "up the image" of City in the media.

I understand that one Sir Roderick of Collins has been approached, and is thinking about the offer.

I don't think Matthews will take it tbh, he is a bank manager in Dublin and is repotredly very happy with that situation.

The way Arkaga have treated Rico is a disgrace.

Seemingly this Arkaga crowd don't realise, or care, about Roddy's reputation among the fans of eL football.

He is held in high regard in media circles though (working with both RTE and NewsTalk regularly enough) and Arkaga see him as the ideal candidate to rejuvenate the club, and bring them to a wider audience.
