Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vista antivirus installation issues

I got a new dell laptop a few days ago, and one of the first things I did was to uninstall the symantec security crap on it. However, when I went to install my copy of Panda 08 that I was using on my desktop (it is a 3 PC licence) I get the following error message:

    File: C:\WINDOWS\system32\PAV\
    Error: Access denied

Ok, this directory does not exist, I am checked the options to allow me to view hidden folders, etc, I have turned off the vista security that won't let you write to that directory in the first place (I can create a directory in my System32 folder), but this still won't get past this error? Out of curiousity I tried to create the PAV folder, but it wouldn't let me.

Am I missing something obvious? Any help appreciated.

Check the permissions on the root drive and sub directories, sounds like the permissions are inherited..

I can create directories of a different name though, just not that PAV directory.

Browse the Panda cd and find the setup.exe file. Right click on it and select 'Run as Administrator'. See if that helps.

Can you install any other AV?

I would check the Panda AV webby gor this issue. It may be known.
