I am an Irish resident, citizen and taxpayer.

I will be having regular dealings with the UK in the next few years for which I will be making periodical payments in sterling.

Am I entitled to open a sterling account with the likes of AIB, BoI or whoever in to which I can deposit sterling for future use ?

I am thinking that it might be useful to be able to keep sterling in such an account when the rate is favourable as a possible hedge against fluctuations.
