Yes I can confirm this also!

    Just a few things.

The club is making a huge effort to increase support for 2009 and are interested in getting new supporters club branches up and running
If you are in Rush, Donate, Lusk, Feltrim, Santry, Malahide, Howth, Ballybougal, Balbriggan, Portmarnock or anywhere else from the region and would like to get a supporters club up and running please send me on one of those private messages and I will send you in the right direction.

Season tickets are now available 150 euro for adult, 300 for a family (admits 2 adults and 2 kids)

Provisional date for race night is Thursday Feb 26th at Gibneys in Malahide. Night will also be used to for a match up draw between players and what company will sponsor them for the season.

Its only 1,000 euro to sponsor a player for the season and includes alot of tag ons including season ticket, mention in match programme and on website beside the player profile, availability of the player to attend a company corporate event and much more.

Again send a private message for more on this.

Im looking forward to keeping in touch with you all here

    Cheers,

    Freddie Fox

Sporting poised to sign forward trio

    January 7, 2009

Sporting Fingal manager Liam Buckley has been linked with moves for three forwards – all of whom played Premier Division football last season.

Sporting are regarded as one of the most ambitious sides in the League of Ireland, having confirmed that they will operate off an increased budget in 2009.

Former Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic chief Buckley is intently focused on leading the north Dublin outfit into the top flight at the second time of asking, and will attempt to add plenty of firepower with the acquisitions of Gary O’Neill, Ger Rowe and Ross Gaynor.

O’Neill parted company with St Pats at the end of last season and Rowe looks set to leave Bray Wanderers after two years at the Carlisle Grounds.

Gaynor, meanwhile, is a hot property following an impressive second half of the 2008 season with Cobh Ramblers.

The 21-year-old County Louth man returned to Ireland last year after a spell as a trainee at English League side Millwall.

Did you get your season ticket yet or do you need one with your contacts? Looks like we will have to review Alans position for giveing out his real name and offering free entry over my head, but cant affored to as he is one of the best when hes not talking to the VIPs, only jokeing Alan.Cant wait for the new season to start.were off to Fulham this weekend to have a look at there set up and to get some ideas on how to get bums on seats along with there Stewarting set up to see if we can improve on anything.
I see you have a lot of trouble with one of the shels boys on this site sorry to see it stoped in the last few weeks i hope he returns soon and i also hope we get Shels early in the season when its cold dark and lonely in the far stand maybe instead of buying flares they can give the money to the club as they will need it.

Cant afford the season ticket at the moment:( Credit crunch biting hard. It will be easier for me to pay for a ticket at the home games because its a small amount at a time. Nice to hear yous are all heading over to fulham. Anything that helps the club to improve is a great idea.
Presume you are talking about DSB. Its a love/hate relationship.
I love him, he hates me:D
In fairness, if it wasnt for him and Gavin, this thread might have died along time ago.
( they might actually regret that now:))

Ah Al don't tell me after the Turvey debacle there'll be more more problems with Lusk next. Fingal is unique among LOI setups in that our CoCo visionaries (steady now) have adopted a bottom-up approach & placed the club at the heart of the community from the get go. Don't tell me a community in Lusk are going to start cavilling at this exciting development.

Not that I have heard but its always best to be sure and lodge a positive submission. With planning applications you never know what might happen.

Tut, a cup of bleedin' coffee at half time...... hardly free entry Mr. Barnes (I'm guessing there, spellings led me in that direction, plus the "over my head" comment)! We have to look after lamper given he's kept this thread alive.

Looking forward to March I have to say, two nights a week in the cold between now and then will get me well used to standing around in the cold every Friday night... Ah the pleasures of canvassing.

And you didn't think to bring your Chief VIP Steward?

My suggesting for getting bums on seats is to assess the new MLS clubs in the US, I think they Philadelphia, Seattle or Toronto have joined up recently. We should go...

Sorry Alan im not Mr Barnes but good guess, if your going to guess again please dont use real name,How are your plans going so far for May or is it June I hope you dont expect me to wear one of them big Buttons Alan No:1 on my jacket. forget Fulham are you not coming to Spain with the team for pre season training Ill have to have a word with Bucko :D

You're going to Craven Cottage to try and find a way to get bums on seats by observing there stewarding set-up? What have stewards got to do with attendances?

If anything it would be a good idea to first get rid of the National Guard or whatever they call themselves. Pointless and intimidating. Get rid of the VIP section, smell of modern football off it.

As for that remark about Shels, in that far stand we outnumbered your lot so it won't be dark and lonely I can assure you;)

Yay. We have a new one. Welcome my bitter little shels fan.

It helps when you read someones message properly. He stated that they where heading to fulham to look at there set up and get some ideas along with looking at there stewarding set up. Which means they will get info on how to get bums on seats and info on their stewarding set up:rolleyes:.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 185 ✭✭Rizzla King

Oh right, I read him wrong.

In that case hang on a second, there's a huge difference between 25,000 in Craven Cottage every week then 25-60 people in Morton stadium now isn't there?

How anyone can even think of comparing footballing interest in Ireland to England is beyond me. You've been around for a season, unless you start winning something fast, you won't get many more fans to increase your attendances. It dosen't take a special investigative cross sea trip to tell you that!

    Fulham? seriously? why?:pac:

Surely a club on the up through the divisions is a much better option?

Hi Rizzla, ill try and be breif. I aggree that some of the hired Stewards can let the job go to there heads.we have about 15 guys that help out on match days only half of them have done the Stewards course as per Fai rule this course carrys a Cert and a cost of €300 paid by the club. so without this course they cant do certin jobs like gates or inside with the fans so like yourselfs we need to hire in help and as they get paid we give them the hard jobs.
as for Fulham its not the point if you have 60 or 60,000 the procedures are the same,it not just during, the game the hard work is done before and after the game as well public safty comes first getting people in and out of an any event without problems is a job well done and if we can pick up anything that can inprove what we do in Santry and going forward to Lusk well the trip will be worth it.
We are a new club and we try and go with the rules set down be the Fai and eircom from what i see in our first season ourselfs and Wexford are the only clubs that follow each and every rule in these books, might not agree with some but i dont write them and i would hope we stick to that standard in years to come and not get lazy as other clubs have. like no plan B if theres a floodlight problem and stopping young tugs from entering the pitch and getting within yards of away supports wanting to fight them as if it was there fault yous lost the league. Talk Soon

I find it hard to read your sh** you spout on here, especially when you add your little cheap shots in the end of every post. I might do the same.

If your stewards took the stewarding courses which are needed then no one would not need to travel abroad to structure their stewarding on another system. I doubt Morton Stadium or Craven Cottage are in the same sort of "area" so I don't see how they can be compared at all. Getting people in and out of stadiums depends on where it is and what sort of environment it is in.

I don't see how the floodlights being out is different to any other situation that arises during a match. Fans can get at each other anytime they like if they really want to and I doubt lighting has any effect on behaviour unless you can tell me?

Before you go mocking Tolkas stewards sort your own out as regards letting 30 or so Bohs Hooligans in that are only there intent on causing trouble. So don't go thinking you're fan base are little angels because they are not.

Only one reply Shels Stewards were invited to man there own supports in Mortom but never turned up we did it For Shels in Tolka,Wexford and the Pats Replay as this is what most clubs do, its better all round for rveryone do you not think. this way im sure your Stewards would know who are supports and who not to let in. it came in handy when Dundalk came down they had four lads that helped at the gate where we turned away up to 15 youths how had been bared from Dundalk.
all im saying is there is a lot more to the job and all we want to do is get it right. no more smart remarks.
Ps i wasent mocking the Stewards at tolka there a good bunch of lads bucks stops with the event controler and the officers of the club. The fai cant wait to bank fines to clubs for breaking there rules and there not cheap. Talk soon.

Fair enough I agree there is a lot to do in stewarding, but I just asked a question as to why Craven Cottage was an example to go by. What really p*ssed me off was the fact you had to bring Shels into it and make some kind of smart remark into every post. Obsessed is all I can say.

That post wasn't aimed to put you in your place, just speaking the truth.

And you know the opinion of every other Eircom League fan yes? After 1 year of existence you've managed to socialise with a fan of every other club and hear his opinion on Shelbourne FC?

Do one and bring your bags of money with you and buy the first division next season like you're planning to do.

Are they all signed and delivered officially? Also any defenders by any chance or is it a case of score goals first, ask questions later?
