    Hi,

The battery recently died on my 2002 Seat Leon Key fob. I got an identical replacement battery and fitted it myself. Since putting in the new battery the red LED only flashes intermittently. It doesn't unlock the car or flash any indicators either.

I've tried reprogramming the fob as outlined in the Car Manual but no luck. I've double checked the battery contacts and they are fine. The polarity of the battery is ok too.

Anyone ever come accross anything like this? I'm reluctant to bring it to the dealer as I've heard replacement key fobs are pricey. Any suggentions much appreciated !

    Thanks,
    Jon

Hi, had a similar problem with key to Renault Kangoo. Rang main dealer and told it would cost €240 to replace! Found an Irish company in Cork, KC Systems, which would repair the unit for €60. I sent the dodgy key off and it came back fixed within 4 days. It would have sickened me to hand over €240 for a new key.
