Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ok, I've got two big interviews coming up with two big firms, and I was wondering if there are any companies etc who give quality preparation. I'm quite anxious to get some preparation in as i'm not accustomed to doing high pressure interviews...

Any help or tips would be most grateful....

Is there anyone in your circle of family or friends who is experienced at interviewing and would do a few mock interviews with you?

Unfortunately not. I'm the first in my family to go to college, so there's nobody experienced in my family with any sort of career interviews...

be friendly, happy, enthusiastic and above all avoid any negativity. Prepare the standard questions, why should we go give the position to you rather than the chap outside. where do you see yourself in 5yrs time, what are your strengths, what are your weaknesses (prepare these especially, they need to be weaknesses that sound real, but will have no effect on your ability to work in the company). Before, you go in, read the job spec, find out exactly they want. Your job is to be that person.

I havent failed in an interview yet and I do a lot of them (contractor), a fellow contractor gave me a good piece of advice one time, which is just another way of saying what I said above... before the interview say to yourself "I am whatever they want me to be". Bag the job even if you think you wouldn't like it, you can use it in negotiation over other positions. Also agencies will be very impressed and want to keep you if the interviewer raves about you and you turn it down. They will get you another interview quickly.

    Hope that helps, good luck.

Just a quick update...I felt a little nervous about the interviews on Tuesday so I went to an interview technique preparation course today...She was absolutley brilliant and really settled me for the big interview hitting all the right points...It was not the aforementioned course rather PA consultancy...

Go to your university careers office - they should be able to give some good advice on interview, CV etc.
