Not trying to dampen the Christmas mood, but what songs have this effect on you?

We all have them ... those song(s) that hit you, when you hear the first note, for whatever reason ...

    My two are:

'In This River', Zakk Wylde's tribute to Dimebag Darrell. Just a beautiful song.

'My Immortal', by Evanescence (acoustic version) as it was played at a friends funeral (RIP Tom)

Have another friend who breaks down whenever she hears 'fields of gold'.

    So what's yours?

the cinematic orchestra always manages to provoke some sort of emotional reaction, but this is just beyond words...

Old Town by The Corrs. For all the wrong reasons. Lynott must be spinning in his grave.

That song Cats in the Cradle always reminds me of that nordie ad on towards the end of the troubles (1993 or 94 I think.) * The one where the dad is locked up for most of his sons childhood and by the time he gets out the son is knee deep involved in it like he was, and ends up murdered. Certainly raises the neck hair. On a similiar note, The Town I Loved So Well.

I want shooting for this (:D ) but that Westlife song You Raised Me Up will always remind me of George Bests funeral now.

Apart from that, You`ll Never Walk Alone does it for me :) The 2005 match, drunkenly belting it out in an Irish bar in Czech Rep last September, good times. Ditto Give It a Lash.
