All depends on what you want really. You can go for the traditional Hens night and all get completely pissed, which i would suggest galway or kilkenny for. Or a lot of brides are doing the spa treatment days and then heading out on the town or something. So as i said all depends!

Ive been to one in Weestport and had a great night. We stayed in the plaza-cant wait to go back, it was fab. The nightclub came free with the price of the hotel and dinner and there must have been about 5 other hen parties and same amount of stag parties in the upstairs part of the nightclub. Overall, was a brill night. I know others who've gone to Carrick on Shannon and Galway and would reccommend both. Good luck with the planning!

Dont go to Kilkenny. Too many hens here as it is.

    Thanks for all the advice.

Any ideas on good pubs in either Galway or Westport?

    Thanks again

Theres so many in both! Cosy Joes in Westport seems to be a local hit, theres Henaghans across the road and others that I cant remember the names of. In Galway, it depends on what kind of music ye are into, but again, loads to chose from. Would probably be worth putting a thread in the Mayo forum and Galway City one too!

i was at one in Tullamore last year and it was great craic, might be better to go to a town that is not overrun by hen nights (Galway, Westport, Carrick on Shannon). Letterkenny is also good craic. Depends on where you're travelling from of course.

Ya, its all good and well on the way. Travelling the next day hung over is a nightmare! Might want to plan it on a bank holiday!

or if you are not travelling too far and a lot of the crowd going are leaving from the same area it might be worth looking into hiring a minibus to bring ye there and collect ye the next day. That's what happened on the last hen night I was on (Letterkenny) and it meant, no hungover driving and no chance of anyone getting caught for drink driving the next day either.

Thats a must! Along with the lucozade and panadol!
(Jeapy does not condone irresponsible drinking:D)

Hey Galway is good craic, I stayed in th G at a hen last year. reallly fab you have to say its a 30th party as no where likes hens.

we booked an area in Halo, the nightclub was good, but they were totally "hen unfriendly".... Took our hen kits off us and warned us to behave!!

Waterford is a great spot to go on a hen, Lots of great pubs and Ruby's night club is great..I have been to 3 hens weekends down there and have never been disappointed.

Have you thought of a theme yet.

You have to have a theme, The best one for me so far was the trinian school girl one we did last year.

We all wore white shirts, ties, straw hats and mini skirts with long socks and high heels hair in pig tail. We got the shirts from penneys and got the brides name done on the back of them St *****'s

And hers done St'***** Bride to be.

    You should see the pics....

I went on a hen nite to both Galway and Westport, a lot of the places in Galway were strict and didnt really want hens in the place. Westport was 10 times better, drink was cheaper too.

We had my brothers stag do in Westport and that was the best of Craic, you are better to aviod places like Galway as they are getting very strict on Stag do and Hen parties.

I agree with Quality on Waterford. I was there a couple of months ago and had a great weekend. There was only 3 other hens that we bumped into and didn't have any problems getting into places with all the hens gear.

we went to sligo for one a few months back, was brilliant craic! ye'll have a laugh wherever ye go but i know some towns are a bit dodgy about stag and hen parties so check them out well before you go. have fun! nothing like a good hen party! :D

I'm up in Westport a lot, I wouldn't really recommend it for a hens tbh. I'd say Galway might be more fun. A lot of pokey little old man pubs in Westport and very few places that would really suit a hens night imo.

I would HIGHLY recommend Letterkenny for a Hen Weekend. Was at one there recently and every place we visited welcomed the hen party with open arms. We stayed bang in the centre of the town in a lovely hotel called Gallaghers. I wasn't there for night #1 but I think the girls all had a spa evening and then dinner out/pub/club. 2nd day was go-karting in the AM, dinner in hotel that eve (we were all told to wear black and we were given bright pink wigs and bunny ears to wear - for a Hen Party, it looked as close to classy as a hen party can get....seeing as we were all in black - well better than a multi-coloured party all wearing pink wigs and clashing with each other hehe) followed by pub up the street called "the cavern" (extremely welcoming also....we booked an area there - very busy pub, worth booking the area in the pub, the Dj couldn't mention the Hen Party and "hen" enough and he even tracked us down in the niteclub afterwards just to touch in and say hello and see how our night was going - nice chap) Locals and doormen and staff everywhere were all friendly and welcoming and interested :D I know it's prob a good distance from where ye are but worth looking into....
