Used Car Warranty

    Hello!

    So sorry if this is old ground, but couldn't find much on it with a search.

    I have been looking at Warranty Direct in the UK for a used car warranty. I am waiting for them to reply to my question of "Do you cover an Irish registered car driving in Ireland?"

    In the meantime, does anyone know of any companies who provide warranties in Ireland? I remember any years ago I had trouble with a newly bought car (t'was a Rover so I should have known!). It ended up with a engine change 2 months after purchase. The guy I bought it from replaced the engine under his own warranty and then gave me a 12 month independent warranty afterwards as a gesture of goodwill. For the life of me I can't remember the name of the company that provided the warranty. The dealer has gone out of business now too so I can't ask him.

    Anyone have any ideas??

    They might say they do, bear in mind any problem you have with them will be extremely hard to follow up as their outside the state !

    It would be fantastic if someone offered warranties you could buy here outside of the Dealers warranty. They're great value, and provide peace of mind to anyone with a used car!
