I had a 406 saloon and loved it - the saloon is apparently the same, only better-looking. That said, the one in your link looks a bit rough, is a bad colour, is too expensive IMO, and is with a back-street dealer.

I haven't driven one of them myself, but I know someone who has one who finds it very good, and comfortable on long spins.

FWIW, I think that they're a very good looking car. Considered one the last time I changed my car based on looks alone.

The 406 is a lovely looking coupe and has been compare to a Ferrari in the looks categorie. My friend used to have the 3ltr 406 coupe which was great to drive but I don't know about the 2ltr. His 406 had the reg "98 D 406" :)

"Jawdropping Pininfarina styling. One of the best looking cars in the world. Better looking than more expensive Volvo C70 and Mercedes CLK. A truly beautiful car."

    Parkers Guide
"The 406 coupé's refined and dignified looks lend it mini-Ferrari status; it's good to drive, residuals are reasonably high and it compares well against its nearest competitors, the Hyundai Coupé and Toyota Celica. "

    Top Gear"
"Peugeot's Pininfarina-penned 406 Coupe looked a million dollars. More beautiful than a good few Ferraris and a nice drive too, this elegant 2+2 was capable of punching well above its weight in any catwalk catfight"

    The list goes on...

    That's just laughable!

I meant, of course, to say that the coupé is apparently the same, only better-looking.:)

Nice bodies. 3.0 is good but sale proof. 2.0 is a bit underpowered. 2.2HDI is rare but is the best of them.

I've always loved the looks of these cars, and had considered getting one in the past. The 406 Coupes were actually built in Italy by Pininfarina, whereas the saloons were built by Peugeot themselves in either the UK or France. Can't remember which.

I would go over to the UK for one (especially the 2.2 HDi), some of the asking prices in the above carzone links are just laughable.
