New motor for 23 yo male?

Im looking to get a new car over the next few months, but will wait till after July 1st if there is gonna be big savings for me.

I currently drive a 97 1.5 Mazda 323F, its a grand car but im just to big for it. Im 6'3 and i have a bandy knee, meaning I cant bend it more than 90degrees, so getting into the Mazda has become a bit of a joke. Plus i want something different, its time for a change.

I want something sporty, nippy enough, reliable and comfortable with preferbly loads of toys. My budget is a max 5k, but for something really nice i wouldnt mind spending a little more, but id be happy enough buying something older thats as real quality motor that only cost 2k!

With the Vrt changes in mind (i could wait till july if needs be), i was thinking of going over to the UK and importing a 00' Celica, but i dont think im gonna be able to afford it now, so am looking for something else. Also thinking of a Civic, but I just dont think its what i want.

What do yis think?

Why not? Im considering bringing one in from the UK if its worth while in savings. The celica may be an option if i import one form the UK rather than buy over here.

The Alfa 147 was a car I always liked so thats a contender, I also drove a Saab 9-3 the other day and loved it, but dont think i could bring myslef to buy one of them!

VRT on a Celica is likley to be higher after July if you import it. either do the UK before July or buy one here would be the most sensible. VRT is Currently 25% on the Celica but 32% from July for the 190 VVTL-i

Ye will be buying in January/Febuary so no problem there. Still dont think i'll be able to afford it though so am looking for something a bit cheaper?

Na, VAG cars dont do anything for me, overpriced and i find them unbearably bad/uncomfortable to drive. Saying that, i've only drove an Octavia and a golf, but never again.

Although if i was going to go with a VAG, it probably would be the Audi A4.

Its a bit lowdown alrite, but the seats go way back so there shouldnt be much of a problem.

The older civic is a beauty but a 2.2 vtec would have the insurance company going a bit mental. ANd on the ad it says its "2litre on ttaxbook for cheap insurance", but i would be intrested in one of them preludes.

The newer ones aernt as nice are they, and there not as good, especially as id have to get a 2litre non vtec.

How about the 01 type Civic coupe ?? some nice ones on autotrader.co.uk, look a very nice car and very rare. 1.7 VTEC engine aswell so would have a bit of poke, and also cheap insurance and tax would be ok.
