hi, im selling a bike that ive done up and am just looking for advice as to what price i should ask for. its in great shape without scratches but is quite old. it has a columbus frame, campag groupset, mavic rims. a lot of parts are brand new such as seatpost ( shimano dx ) seat (selle italia) break and gear cables, hope skewers, armadillo tyres plus has a lot of spares such as campag seatpost + new shimano clipless pedals. just looking for advice on the price as i dont want to outprice it or undercut myself either. ive added some pics. thanks:)

I wouldn't be sure about price, but it's a great looking bike! Any full view photos?

Nice bike. What size is it out of interest?

i love these bikes, does it have the reynolds tubing???
id say €200-€250:),with reynolds tubing id be willing to spend a bit more as the frame will be very good. This is just from looking at the pictures, maybe a bit more, very hard to get a price from piccs.
what campag group set does it have???? they make good stuff, but also dodgey stuff, as with all companies.:)

He mentions that it's Columbus tubing, which is AFAIK considered to be the other classic manufacturer of steel tubing other than Reynolds. They are Italian and I believe their tubing would be more common on continental bikes (such as this Peugeot.)

How is the shifting on this bike? Any rust? Any reason the chain is hanging off in one of the photos ;-) Brake levers look like they have been in a few scrapes too (not necessarily fatal, all mine look somewhat like that too ;-)

And WHAT'S THE SIZE! If it is a 58cm I would say it's not worth much... Not much at all...

I'd def agree with Kona, at least €200-€250. it looks to be in great shape and the cheapest piece of sh1t Mercurrio road bikes start at about €230 and i know I'd rather have your sweet ride than a cheap entry level piece of cr@p.

    Nice bike!

it is a 58inch, i have it hanging up on the wall and when i took it off the chain came off. it has absolutely no rust at all.spotless frame .as good as new.the rims are brand new as well and everything runs smooth. the levers are scratched though which is pretty annoying. the bike is a 7speed and this was why i got it very cheap, i had to buy 8speed shifters on ebay and add an extra disc to the 7speed rear sprocket. the lad on ebay told me the levers were mint but alas were not. i bought new hoods to jazz them up as much as possible. had new cables fitted and everything runs perfect. Its a mixture of campag parts. the shifters are athena, the calipers are mirage and i dont really know the rest.only reason for sale is because im looking for a mountain bike.its old but a classic

afaik, you cant make a 7spd cassette a 8spd, as the freehub wont be long enough:confused:
did you get the wheels rebuilt with a new rim, or is it a new wheelset??
I'd still say inbetween €200-€250, id prob advert it for €270, and go down to €240.
the hope skewers look the ****:)

hi, thanks for the estimate. will see how i fare. you can make a 7 an 8.i brought it to one of those old bike specialists and he said that although it shouldnt be possible it is with certain spacer. i trusted him and thankfully he was right. ive added ( yet another) pic to show it working, it is true though that on some bikes you would need either another wheel or another frame which thankfully wasnt the case.

Well if it is 58cm I'd certainly be interested. Are the (Shimano) pedals SPD (e.g. mountain bike type) by any chance?
