No idea what would be best .... tom's hardware seems to move quite quickly.

So ... my old mobo keeps on dying and I want to replace it

    1.5G RAM

    2xIDE HDD
    1xDVD RW, 1xCDRW all on IDE master/slave

    Pentium 3 GHz

    USB 2 etc etc

Graphics is an AGP ATI 1650 , have 450 watt PSU

only USB stuff plugged in really.

    running Win XP Pro.

    standard atx form factor board

My need : drop-in-replacement that will just work, no interest in changing anything ...

can anyone point me to the best board - I know the setup is getting on a bit but would appreciate assistance
    TIA

    What kind of RAM?

    Pentium 3 GHz

Is that a Pentium 3 or did you mean a Pentium 4 at 3 GHz? If so, what socket is it?

Socket 478 has been gone a long time. Ebay or adverts.ie is your best bet.

Try for the same model if possible, or at least the same SIS 661 chipset. Anything else will probably need a reinstall or repair install run of XP.
