My last two company cars were a 05 A4 and a 07 passat. Both diesels. My only advice would be BUY A MONDEO.

Its still not too bad though.

Sorry didn't realise that there was more than one A4 being mentioned!

OP you're the one who will be using the car, therefore buy the car that suits you.

Just for the record...I will NEVER set foot in a micra let alone buy one *eugh*

I probably won't have any updates on her view change because we had a little tiff about it last night. I showed her the pic of the Audi in a local garage and she thought the 17k was the 'as new' price so. I'll raise the subject again later.

The other thing that's annoyin me is that she keeps pushin me to go and look for a car before i go back (which is the end of this month) which i've been hesitant about because it's her money etc...but then I find one that's suitable and she goes mental! aaaahhhh!

Ok, so a little update. If being doin constant research and with thanks to some of you on here she's turning! Unfortunately we haven't been able to sit down and chat about it properly but i've pleaded the case for my high cc diesel with the long milage i'll be doing and I think she's coming around!

    yay for boards.ie :)

    You know it makes sense....

But please make sure you are doing sufficient annual mileage to justify the diesel cos if you're not, you'll spend too much buying it to offset with the fuel economy.

    I'm a sucker for a nice avant http://www.carzone.ie/usedcars/index.cfm?fuseaction=car&carID=847233
