We got a snow here thid morning from 7 am till about 7.30 am where the rain finally came. And all day it rained, and rained. It was definetely the wettest day here in a good few weeks, and there was a lot of lightning and thunder as well, which i guess was some bit of a plus to the day (considering all the sneachta that fell up the country)

Hello, just a heads up for those in central Ireland and the Dublin area in particular, radar looks potentially nasty for later on this morning, would be on the watch for hail and thunder, very strong wind gusts with a line squall feature. This could develop in other places at other times today, winds are very very strong above the surface and with daytime mixing of the boundary layer about to begin, these may mix down to the ground more than they have overnight ... potentially there could be gusts to 60 or 70 mph later today and there could even be a small tornado, whether anyone actually sees it or not, dramatic skies for sure if you're into photography. Also very large waves likely on the west coast especially at high tide today.

    Squally showers overnight.
    Max gust 51mph.

Blowing over very quickly, so rain levels low.

Huge hailstorm this morning, 9am for about 10 mins. Very bad driving conditions. Still some ice around now nearly 3 hrs later. Was about an inch of ice on the ground by the time it finished.

    Some lightning too.

Showers quite light in nature here overall, though some powerful winds around 5am this morning woke me up, and was quite frightning for a while. Knocked a couple of trees down around Tuam.

Currently 4.3c with a moderating wind.

3.6c currently, short heavy burts of rain

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,433 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

    3.3°C here and windy.
Snow on the Wicklow mountains today , even at the Sally Gap. A few wallys were out walking in the galeforce arctic winds..I prefered to say in my nice warm car though and admire the view :)
