    Hi

Anyone know what the going rate is for delevering pizzas for a few hours a night?

Both Legal ( Dominos, Donatellos) and kinda legal ( The Indian places with a hand written sign in the window)

I checked Jobs.ie and found a good few, but no figures and its all D.O E - which either means you have to be a fat bastard or just have a full license

i'm living on the northside of Cork City -

Reason i'm going so low is im buying a really clean on 98 Escort for 1800 euro - but tax and insurance works out just over €2k!!

But..... could be a laugh - won't have to quit day job and with it i could do with getting used to driving the thing

    Thanx

dominos pay €5 per hour and you get €1.50 per drop. (well in my local one you did)

then you get a bit of tips on top of that.

if you do a normal friday night : 5pm-12pm thats 7 hours X €5 = €35 plus approx 20 drops = €30 plus approx €15 tips so all together about

    €80

but then are the drawbacks :
have to wear a silly uniform and hat!
    petrol costs
wear and tear on the car.

but dominos do cover you for insurance on their own drivers policy. once you have a car in your own name and insured in your own name then you will be covered to deliver pizzas!

I do it for four star pizza and they pay 10e per hour, I do friday/sat nights. seven hours work per night plus about 15e tips,,,approx 85 a night or maybe a little more.

I was offered a Dominos position but the day I turned up for work they tried to make me wear that very silly uniform and that stupid hat my god! There was no way I was gonna drive round all night with that crap on me. I was so embarressed that I literally walked out when their back was turned and ripped outa there as quick as I could...Good Luck!

The problem will be making sure you have the correct insurance to deliver pizzas. I have no idea what it costs.

Yes your correct, a third party extention is required for your insurance. "class 2 or class b" carriage of goods in conjunction with a business. It cost me 175e extra on my yearly premium but most guys dont bother as the other lads working with me told me they never bothered.

If you already have insurance can you not ask the insurance company for extra toppings!!!

Are other people really that bad at tipping?
I, and anyone else I know, routinely tip them €2 a time. So after calling to my house (~10 mins from base) they average €13 over the other 6 hours and 50 mins!
