Best site to buy off. You will have to pay shipping on that and probly VAT but you WILL deffenetly come out on top from buying from HPI in ireland.
    Thats a 200mm body.

Do you plan on racing it?
If so, I think you will find limited places to race in Cork along with the fact that not many people actually run Nitro Touring Cars.
Better off get an electric car and come and join us in Fermoy Model Car Club where we meet up weekly.
Failing that buy an Offroad Buggy/Truggy.. you will find that you can run them in a lot more places than a touring car. ;)

If you just want a parking lot racer Traxxas/HPI are both fine brands however if your planning on going racing I suggest you look at brands like Serpent, Xray, Kyosho, Mugen and Team Magic who all offer race spec 1:10 200mm Touring Car kits. They are designed for racing (better materials) but will cost quite a bit more.

As Eugene says nitro touring car racing is limited in this country due to the fact we only have one purpose built track (in Dublin) but having said that onroad nitro racing enjoyed one of its best seasons in terms of numbers in 2007 and looks set to get even stronger in '08. You cant beat the noise of nitro racing but electric racing is a lot less time consuming (preparation between events) and hassle free!

Electric Touring Cars (1:10 190mm) is getting very popular in Ireland and you have Fermoy Model Car Club on your door step who have a great venue and good numbers.

1:8 Nitro Buggy racing is another option and this enjoyed a fanatistic 2007 season which has led to a four round National Championship for 2008.

    Regards,

    Oisin

Nitro drifting is something to be careful of. It is very easy to blow your engine among other parts. Like burning out the clutch.
Electric only as we run indoor and insurance wouldnt allow nitro in there. :(

    Agreed,
It is hard to beat the smell of nitro and the noise of it. :D

    Very Likely
I have bought from there a couple of times and got stung once.

If you want to drift go with electric. An electric motor will get its peak torgue alot quicker than a nitro engine and thats the key for drifting, plenty of power on entry. Another bonus of electric is its cheaper and not hard on parts like nitro. Dont let smell and a cool noise fool you.
    But I were you i'd get a nitro one:D

    No.
But you could save a lot of dosh by buying second hand.
Did you ring Greene Hobby and Models in dublin for a price? They can be cheaper than BoyzToys.
I am not sure which models they sell but a saving is a saving
failing that you could contact Rennick's Modeltune in the North for a price.
