Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As the title says, I bought a WAP from Dabs, an Edimax EW7206APg and have been trying to get it working, but to no avail.
Ive followed the instructions on configuring the PC to be in the same subnet as the access point, but when I enter "192.168.2.1" to access the configuration set up of the access point, nothing happens.
Ive looked around online and cant seem to find much info/help.

Anybody able to offer any help or guide me in the right direction?

Im trying to configure it on an XP SP2 machine to allow NTL broadband go wireless.

    Thanks for any help

    Try this

    US User manual

You seem to be using the correct ip anyway, silly idea but it might be the file exrension thats causeing the prob i.e .html try IP192.BLA.BLA.BLA.ASP and see what happens

Take a look at this link here:

    http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=2&c=17&t=4696

Looks like you need a crossover cable to connect it directly to your laptop/pc. If you don't have one and happen to have a hub/switch hanging around then hook them both up to that.

Ive followed the exact instructions as per the manual a few times but still no joy.

I have a crossover cable connecting it directly to the pc - which the modem is already connected to using usb. (Im waiting on delivery of a wireless adapter)

    Anybody got an other suggestions/ideas?
thanks for the responses already guys :)

    Ok .. slight update:

I emailed edimax who sent me the correct instructions for setting up the WAP correctly.
    http://www.edimax.co.uk/en/support_detail.php?pl1_id=1&pl1_idSelect=support.php%3Fpl1_id%3D1%26mwsp%3D1&pd_id=18

I followed these and began getting somewhere. I was able to get into the settings as per these instructions.
Ive hit a stumbling block though ...

Ive gotten to step 3 on this and reconnected the PC - router and the WAP.
I only have 1 lan connection on the router (NTL) and would only be able to connect the WAP to the router via this connection, which would therefore need me to connect the PC to the router via USB.
But when I do this .. I cannot access the WAP settings page.

In general is it possible to set up a wireless access point via USB to Modem via LAN to WAP??

    Thanks again for any comments/help
