Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry I've been going through the 3 website and I can't find how much it costs for data access for 3Pay customers (not monthly)

Is there an unlimited or bundle of data you can buy when on 3Pay?

Yep, you can get any of the mobile broadband addons 100 mb for 5.99, 250mb for a tenner and a gig or so for twenty.

Are the addons charged per month, or untill you use them up?

If I don't buy an addon how much is data access outside of a bundle?

thanks .. do you know if they block smtp/imap on that ?

they also charge 49cent per mb for data when you reach the add-on limit and also for people who have not bought a bundle.

They used to tell you on the My3 Check my balance page how many mb's you had left, but that feature is now gone, and it says Fair use all the time instead, which isn't helping out much is it.

so what do you do .. keep looking at your credit to see when it starts going down quickly, and therefore your addon has been used up ??

When you addon is up, it will disappear from your My3 page. Also, they will send you a warning message when you are about to run out. Don't know at what point they will do this, if it's when 5 mb left, 10 mb etc.

i got the message two days ago but its still working and the my3 page still says fair usage. i'm worried that it'll run out without telling me and take all my credit

three or anyone else can not charge for any service that their customer(s) think is free or think is covered by an add-on without 1st notifying you the add-on has expired and that they will now be charging!

so if you get charged before you get the text to say your add-on is finished then you can argue for a refund!

had to do this when€30 was taken without my knowledge as the add-on had finished but three failed to notify me before they started charging for data!

right so it looks like 3 won't tell me when the add on has run out since they didn't tell you. i suppose i'll just be careful since i'd rather not go through the whole refund process because i don't want to call them.

does anyone know if i buy a new add on before this one expires will the remaining data allowance be added to the new one or is it lost

they did text me to say the add-on was finished but it was hours after the add-on had finished so i had run up a bit of a bill! they tried saying as i had used the service i must pay but i argued as it is a pre-pay service they cant charge later for services i(you) use now!

and far as i know(but as always open to correction) you cant buy another add-on untill your current one has endeed?

do you have to call them to get the addons or can you do through website?

i think we've had this conversation. they weren't charging later, they just didn't tell you your add-on had run out so you weren't aware you were being charged. that is of course a valid reason in itself so you were entitled to the money back but for the reason you gave :D

you get them through website unless your on bill-pay when you will have to call to set up the add-on.

considering they block so much any use you get is probably "fair use"

on pre-pay they block all adult content not just porn but anything which is adult orientated/themed. this is despite asking customers to verify their age to access mobile broadband at all but this has already been well covered in other threads

    Thanks Lads!

Will a skype client work on any phone on 3Pay or do you have to use one of the 3 skype phones ?

I have an iphone which uses gprs/edge data connections .. will this use the addon data package on 3pay or are the addons only for 3G data ??

They write fair use even on the 100 mb and 250 mb bundles, but it is not fair use, it is 100 / 250 respectively.. on the 2000 mb bundle it's also not fair use, it's 49c per mb thereafter.. So fair use is not telling the truth..

but when your 100/250mb is used up they do not tell you for weeks so people are running up massive debts which three take from your credit at a later date!

thing is they are not allowed do this with pre-pay customers but maybe they are operating using indian rules?

Are you not checking your balance more often than once every few weeks? If you check My3, you will see straight away that the Internet item is gone. Even if it's their duty to tell you that the bundle is up, it would be a sensible thing to check My3 at least a few times per week.

anytime i was in planet three (every day) the internet bundle still said "fair use" i got text at 6:52pm saying the bundle had expired and over an hour later they took €37.26 from my credit without any corrosponding usage! three do not have any accurate way of checking your bundles remaining balance! they used to have a link in planet three but that has been gone for months now

so i was using the service and they failed to notify me by text message(as they do) that the bundle had expired until weeks after because their "systems are not working properly"

so they expect customers to cover their shortcomings thats just pathetic and a sure sign of people in serious trouble!

    Couple of qns :
    Can you get 3Pay SIM~only ?
Do the add ons mean I can just spend 10 quid a month and use a 3G/HSDPA phone as a modem with a 250 MB limit ? i.e. no voice spend necessary ?

Even though they seem to like peddling smut for €3 on their Planet3 service. Strange...

Unlimited data for 19.99 is subject to 2GB fair use

When I questioned a limit on unlimited they said .. ye unlimited MB not GB!
    I said but 2GB = 2000MB, he said wha?

still €20 for 2GB would take me a year in browsing! thats not bad if it will work on an iphone ..
