id reckon 800w+ would do it? then again there are 1200+ available now so power isnt a huge issue.

I think DirkVoodoo was referring to the power requirement of the 3xSLI configuration you mentioned.
Anything under 1200w isn't going to cut the mustard in my opinion. That is of course if this is even going to be a valid configuration for this card(s).

So sad that they're going the X2 way again. SLI/Crossfire just isn't viable in the long term, and is over reliant on driver updates and game support. I wonder how many people are still running their 2x6800GT systems?

I'd love to see the driver support for that. Woeful at best I'd say.

ah right. lol 1200 wouldnt do it then. not with everything else running.

im sure when they release the g100's the 9800gx2 will get dropped like the 7950gx2.... and driver support will die. unless owner's of the card decide to keep the drivers uptodate themselves.

im gonna stick with my 7950gx2 :O and wait for the real 9xx series.

Damn it, so is this the card that all the rumours have been pointing to for a feb release?

Or is a 9800GTX still on the cards? (for a release sometime soon)

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,855 ✭✭✭Grim.

yeah from what im hearing this the 9800gtx and the 9600gt are being released on the 16th of feb

will see how it does in benchmarks first

Nvidia is launching this in the face of Ati launching their own dual graphics set up.

the thing is , the nvidia one is on a double pcb and the ati one is on a single Pcb
