DNS Perlico

Mystified

I have one PC connected to Internet via a ZyXEL P-660HW-D1 modem. ISP is Perlico.

I am trying to port forward using instructions on

http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ZyXEL/P-660HW-D1/Halo.htm

However first I must obtain a static IP address using instructions on

http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm

I am at the point when I must find out my DNS but have searched the entire interface with the modem without success.

Can anybody help please ?

just put in the ip of your router or perlico's dns

or any from opendns

I cannot find DNS on the modem interface browser.

I read somewhere that opendns can be a security risk:eek:

on a machine that's online and conencted to perlico do an ipconfig/all

whatever is listed there for dns use that e.g. the internal ip address of the router or modem

If memory servs it can be found in the diagnotic menu ( I could be wrong)

217.115.112.2 (pri)
217.115.112.3 (sec)

If you are stuck, although I would recommend you call your ISP and ask them for the details you need.
