    Hi All,

i hope you dont mind me asking for help but I dont have a clue where else to go.

I want to get a projector for the apartment, its to go on a stand in the sitting room, which is about 3.5meters by 5 meters.

i can only afford to spend 500 max and im hoping it can be used instead of the TV. at the mo I have digital NTL in the house and would like to get rid of the tv. I understand the room will have to be dark for it to work. id also like to be able to plug the computer into it sometimes, cos i think it would be gas to be sitting back typing away looking at the wall.

    Cheers,
    Luke

For 500e you should be able to get a standard definition projector (widescreen usually best for dvds & digital tv)

You can get dlp or lcd. Dlp probably more popular these days for home cinema projectors.

Bulbs in projector only last a few thousand hours and are very expensive.

There are magazine articles at www.homecinemachoice.com all about projectors, which will explain the basics
