Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

i've got a netgear wireless router, and i've tried going into it via 192.168.0.1 to turn on the wireless, but it shows up blank. I then tried to reset it via reset button, but it's not doing anything. Anyone have any ideas what i could try next to access it?

from a command prompt figure out the IP of your default Gateway.

Try to web into that on http:// and https://

    It may not be 192.168.0.x....

    Click Start, then Run.
    Type cmd
    Click Ok
    Type ipconfig
Look for "Default Gateway". Across from it will be the routers IP address.
Type that address into you router and you should be good to go.

    http://192.168.1.254/

you may need to use an eternet cable if your wireless is currently disabled or you dont have the access key.

You may need to reset the router to factory defaults to get back in....

    From the Netgear Web Site...

You can restore the factory default configuration settings that reset the router’s user name to
admin, the password to password, and the IP address to 192.168.1.1.

To restore the factory default configuration settings:

    1. Use a sharp object such as a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the restore factory settings
button, located on the rear panel of the router, for about 20 seconds, until the Test light begins
to blink (see “Router Back Panel” on page 4).

    2. Release the restore factory settings button, and wait for the router to restart, and for the Test
    light to turn off.

The factory default settings will be restored so that you can access the router from your Web
    browser using the factory defaults.
    Interface Specifications

This procedure will erase all the current configuration settings and restore the factory
    defaults.

it does work, as my internet works and other hardware plugged in via ethernet cables plugged in work also. it's just that i had previously switched off wireless, but i now want to switch it back on again and just can't get in to the web interface to change the settings

By all accounts it should be working for you.

You need to web into your default gateway either on http or https to get access to the sections you need.

If you cannot access those pages you need to do a factory reset of the unit - the details are above.

If you can't log in normally *and* you cannot reset to factory defaults then there is little else I think we can do for you.

thanks macrubicon. i was basically hoping there was a non webbased way of entering the interface or that someone had had the same problem and how they sorted it. i've tried calling netgear support but the number doesn't work and they don't recognise my email address so can't email them.
