    Hi,
I'm doing a bit of adwords with Google and have a banner on Jumbletown.ie, but for some reason, it stops revolving, even though I'm pretty sure I never put any amount of cycles on it.

You can see the ad here: http://www.jumbletown.ie/forums/showthread.php?t=18356

You may have to refresh a few times to get my ad (VanTasks.ie) but if you look, mine stops and there is another banner from "formit.ie" that keeps going.

    Any help appreciated :)

I can't think of any other reason why it'd stop revolving except for the number of cycles. You may want to check the file.

I'd check your file again. Seems to stop after 2 rotations. How did you create it?

In imageready if I remember right. I'll check it out later but I'm pretty definite I didn't limit the amount of cycles?

Refreshed about 20 times and didn't see the ad. You could have posted it up here you know.

Gordon, where are you based? I have the add viewable to folks in a 100 mile radius of where I am (handy) maybe you're out of the demographic (is that even the right word, me just trying to sound smart using a word like that:D)

emmm, what's happened? I tried to get the image location (above) and now when I go back to the jumbletown page, it only shows the above frame?

Seemed fine to me, three changes.

Yeah it's working again now for me:confused:

But it still stops after a few rotations.

Ah yes. That'll be me outside of the 100 mile radius!

It was set to 3 rotations. Goodness cormie, you need glasses!

This should be what you need, attached.

Cool thanks a lot, I still haven't checked it in imageready, been busy all day, but I thought I checked it before and never saw anything about a rotation number:confused:

Thanks a lot for the fix anyway :)

Hmm, seems I'm still having the same problem. I checked the original gif I uploaded and it didn't stop after 3 spins, same with the one you posted Gordon, but it seems once it's uploaded to Google, it stops after 3 rotations:confused: Have tried with my original one again and yours and they are both the same, if you open them in firefox before uploading, they don't stop, once they are uploaded, they stop:confused:

I have uploaded to a live site and simply opened them from the website - http://www.me.com/img1.gif
    http://www.me.com/img2.gif

My gif rotates infinitely and yours does not.

Could there be a cache issue? Could Google force a finite loop?

I'll ask the folks at google and see what they say :) Will post back when I get a response.

    Got a reply:
Thank you for your email. I understand you would like to find out why your
animated image ad in your placement targeted Campaign rotates three times
    and then stops.
Animated image ads must follow all the Editorial Guidelines for standard
image ads, as well as conform to certain rules specific to animated ads.
    Please see https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/imageguidelines.html for
complete details. One of the policies is that animated ads are restricted
to a maximum of 15 seconds (at a 15 - 20 fps frame rate), after which
point the ad must remain static. This is the reason why your animated ad
rotates three times and then stops.

We reserve the right to exercise discretion regarding the advertising we
accept, as noted in our Terms and Conditions (
    https://adwords.google.co.uk/select/tsandcsfinder ).

If you have additional questions, please visit AdWords Support at
https://adwords.google.co.uk/support, where you will find answers to many
    frequently asked questions.

We look forward to providing you with the most effective advertising
    available.

    Sincerely,

Just had another look on jumbletown and that "formit.ie" banner isn't actually done through Google it would seem, which is probably why it's still rotating and mine is not. Also there was a matress.ie ad which was flashing but has now stopped flashing. Must be just google so after all!

At least my mind is clear now that I did indeed set and see it at "no limit" on rotations when I made it :D

Wonder is there a way around it. Perhaps I should just make the ad like Formit's so that all my info is available on each frame, or at least the Vantasks.ie logo.

Ah that's interesting! Do google accept Flash ads too? I'm guessing so if they mention FPS.
