So who here's into street and freestyle BMXing?

Anyone know any good spots/places around Dublin which are good for street and freestyle BMXing??

And anyone got any idea on what's the cop's stance on street BMX bikers??

    Bmxboards

The best thing about street riding is learning and going looking for spots to ride and finding them for yourself. There are a lot of spots all around the city, some better than others, some that you may not be able to ride properly yet. Alot of spots over the last 6-7 years have either been capped, got better security or simply demolished and something different rebuilt in its place that isn't bike friendly.
UCD is ok for some street riding. It's not as good as it's made out to be but there are some nibbley spots in there. Security has increased the last 3 years or so and you generally just get moved on and told to get out.

As for cops, it comes down to common sense. If your riding somewhere your not meant to be and you know it and the cops arrive, just start getting ready to leave and let them tell you to move on/give out to you. It's easier to take the flack from the cops than to argue it. Again cops tend to leave you alone if passing by and don't see you doing anything, so just relax until they pass by or move on. Obviously some cops will take more interest than others. Just be polite and do what they say...If you argue back to them it's only highlighting the particular spot and BMX bikes riding that spot if they ever see you there in the future.

Maybe try heading to the skateparks like Bushy park and meet a few people riding and see who wants to go street riding. It's always productive to ride with people of a similar level or riding as you so you can push each other and encourage each other and progression should happen quite fast I hope.
