    Hi There,

This has probably been asked before but i could not find it. Is there a difference between the frames for Male and female for a road bike. There seems to be more choice out there for male bikes.

Is there any reason why a female should not buy a male bike?

Any info on this would be a great help

    Thanks

As long as the bike fits and is comfortable to ride there's no reason not to buy a "male" model - it's really a unisex model.

Womens-specific bikes may have some differences e.g. designed assuming the rider has longer legs and a shorter torso (e.g. short stem, short top tube) or small hands (e.g. short reach brake levers) or a love of the colour pink.

as morgan said, the female frames have a different geometry, the parts also tend to be a little different, with shorter cranks, and a huuge saddle:D:D

    Thanks for the info guys,

Yes. Bear in mind some things are cheap to change (stem, saddle, seatpost) while others are expensive (cranks, shifters.)

Unfortunately most Shimano STI levers are non-adjustable for reach although people have had success with home-brew solutions.
