I ate there, (The spur). Wouldn't recommend burgers! Steaks are OK.... Kinda.

I found the service in China-Ki to be exceptional. Very friendly. Maybe she was just having a bad day.

unfortunately I agree with the original poster, perhaps I had the same waitress, very short, think she doesnt realise and thinks she's just being professional, but comes across very agressive.

Spur is awful they call themselves a steak house the steaks are always over done and over sauced.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Bambu yet! Am i the only one that likes it? Everytime i've been there has been excellent! Highly recommended!!! And you've already said Bella Italia (pricey, but decent portions and quality food!).

    +1

+1 For Bambu. Great little place.

That spur is horrible!! Don't waste your money! Over cooked steaks - tepid Burgers - and dirty tables! Also the place was way under staffed the last time i was there.

Was in the The Kudos Bar in the Clarion Suites once, they've got a pretty good Oriental menu. Also got a surprisingly good BLT in Trinity Rooms this afternoon.

That's to hide the fact that the meat is sh1t! God knows where they're sourcing it.

Have recently moved to Limerick so have been having great fun sampling the new restaurants. So far have been to: Luigi Malones -consistently tasty and interesting food, trendy surroundings and fab free cocktails at certain times! Also Texas Steakout which had a reliable menu and delicious food, very fresh. Service was fabulous in there. Bambu was somewhat disappointing as they have quite a limited menu, but food was satisfactory nonetheless. Initially was a regular customer of Wokking but after trying takeaway from Dim Sum I wont be returning to Wokking. Dim Sum comes highly recommended :)

Just bumping this to see how the testing is going. I'm heading to Limerick the weekend of the Heineken Cup Final and will be eating out both nights (well Saturday could be more liquid :p) Looking for final recommendations, love fish, Italian food and not big meat eaters.

    :pac: The Bruschetta Bar

:pac: I like the four cheese pizza, they have a great base on it, not too dry, not too doughy, just right. nyom.

Maybe so, but it is good food.

Wonder how it's getting on, it's a bit out of the way for an evening meal.

    Vested interest?

Well, yeah, that and the free pizza. :D
But it's still damn good pizza at that, and as such makes me something of an authority on the matter. :P

On the whole I think the restaurant scene in Limerick has really improved greatly, there's such a great variety there nowdays. The days when there was nothing there but chips and Chinese are long gone.

(Though admittedly there are a few chippers and Chinese places that are Limerick institutions and I'm delighted to see are still doin' well today.)

my brother and his girlfriend ate at a new french resturant which i think is called surprise The French Table. It is where San Lorenzo Italian resturant used to be on Steamboat Quay near the Clarion i think. They have divided the space into two units and the new resturant occupies half the old space. I didnt realise that San Lorenzo had gone, so just in case anyone is looking for italian it has been replaced by french food! Oh the upper level of Arthurs Quay has been all spruced up and there is a food court there now! I like seeing the choice of resturants growing here in limerick

Any views from your brother and his gf on the food or price?

Been there -they haven't divided the space but it looks that way fromoutside as they have put a long bench with a high back down the centre which divides the space in two, makes it look buiser with fewer people in. Nicely designed actually.

Have had a lunch and an evening meal in there and it's very nice, great potato rosti! Meal for two with a 3/4 bottle of wine was €80 - 90 I think. Worth a visit, especially as there aren't many (any?) other specialist french places in town.

Bruchetta is fairly busy at lunch times, do well from all of teh offices around there.
