Garmin Upgrade from V9 to 2008

    I am looking at buying a garmin 250w that has v9 on it from the shop and in the box it says upon registration you an get a free upgrade to 2008 mapping, If I buy this unit can I get the upgrade to 2008 straight away from Garmin or do I have to wait until garmin release it?

    I assume that after you register it, they will send the upgrade when it's available - rumoured to be February, or thereabouts.

    You'll have to wait until you can get your hands on it..
    You may be able to find it for download on the more dubious internet sites.

    This is not generally frowned upon, as you pay for the ugrade unlock serial code, not for the DVD.
