That is some color to the water in the third and fourth, whats up with that.Frozen on top with water flowing underneath the ice or is it reflected sky. Wicked.

It's actually motion blur. The camera was on a tripod and they were 3 second exposures.

I know what you mean,i get that all the time late fridays:D

Fantastic colors in the shots of the water anyway.

Will get me a decent camera when over in the states later this month although i have bad luck with camera's busting on me over the last couple of years.:(

Any suggestions, even half trogdor quality will do me fine

Lovely compositions. Do you do any post processing ? Some Photoshop work would take them to another level

:DIt really depends on what you want it for and what your budget would be. Whether you want just a point and shoot camera of a more serious DSLR camera(interchangeable lenses and very chunky). Although there are a few sort of cross-breeds which are more like an SLR like this Fujifilm, although for people who want more of a point and shoot camera it's a bit chunky.

Thanks:), and no. If they are very dark or need to be cropped or something I use Nikon's picture project but apart from that I don't do any post-processing. I got a not so legal copy of photoshop CS3 recently, but I haven't had time to learn how to use it yet.

Great pics- I love the "blur" on the water in the last two.

Well, it looks like you got an eye for photography and Photoshop will serve you well if you get the time to learn it.

No nothing to chunky, more of convenience. I had a 6.1 million pix camera before(few years back) and the quality was great but i hear you can get those lads in 12.1 million pix for same price nowadays.

Basically something that you can fit in the pocket and has good pic quality with buttons that an adult finger can move or push. Some of them buttons are countersunk into the camera on a few models that you cant get to,you know the ones you need long pointed finger nails for

    Budget not a problem(NB i be in the US:D)

    Any thoughts/ideas my photogenic buddy.

    Lol, yes I'm very photogenic:p.
Anyway, in that case I'd recommend the Canon PowerShot G9(better optical zoom, x6)
    http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_g9.asp
or the Canon PowerShot SD950 IS
    http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_sd950is.asp
Don't be fooled by more megapixels=better though, once your over about 5 or 6, more megapixels won't really do that much.

It was raining when I left but I think it changed back to snow soon after. So it's probably still there now, but with more rain forecast overnight unless the temp drops off quick I'd say it'll rain tonight up there. Temp here is currently 9.7C and rising.

Last two look really cool, nice work , really need to get a tri pod are they expensive in general for an entry level job?

No the more light weight ones aren't very expensive at all, but imo you'd be better off getting a more sturdy one. They're much more stable and will last a lot longer. Also, if you are getting one I'd make sure your camera can do longer exposures.
Here's the one I have, i got it around a round 2 years ago. It was around €100 in Birminghams in town.
