Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all.....

    Techy question for ya here.

2003 print server is dying a slow death, now i have a new server going in as a DC, is it possible to move all the printers accross to it without users seeing a change?

is there some script i can push out to the pcs to remap the printers on the new server.

    Thanks

Thanks for that.......... alllready have that, but this requires i go around to all pcs and reconnect pcs to the new printers.

is there a way of the user comming in and seeing no changes and just being able ot print?

Ive used the prnter migrator tool going from a 2000dc to a 2003 dc and I ran into printing problems from an application afterwards so would be a little wary of it - now it may have been down to the application but I cannot be sure.

You need to install hp jet direct sw and any port monitoring software onto the new server before you restore the print queues.

I've tried dns aliases in the past when moving printers to a new server
so the old name would still find them didn't work too well

the drivers are already on the pc's so all they need to do is connect to the printers - send a link round in an email ?
