Meah Tallaght aint that bad, the older parts of tallaght has their fair share of decent ppl, similar to athlone actually, lots of nackers gets a bad name but not too bad - i have a couple of friends in Tallaght and hold down pretty decent jobs .

Thing is that Tallaght is bigger than Limerick, so there is going to be alot of.. well nackers in any big area like that..

I make joke about it and a few guys get offended.

Had a similar incident with teens at connelly station,a group of teens grabbing each other, then swinning around and letting go and hopping off people. They left an old man in his 70's on his ass. The security guard just stood there looking till they hit my missus and I had one of them by the throat. as soon as i did that security get onto me. Useless bstds

How many people here have thrown eggs at either each other or a car? One Halloween, when we were younger, my brothers egged passing cars from our garden. We were young and it was the perfect hiding place. I remember buying the eggs and the shop-keeper saying, "you're not going to throw these, are you?"

On topic, that sucks. If somebody threw an egg at me, I'd sprint after them.

And therein lies the problem; there parents tend to hold the same view of you're supposed to just ignore them even if they're commiting vandalism, theft, assault, etc.... If you dare try respond their parents are suddenly up in arms that you'd dare treat the little ****s like they treat everyone else.

I vote that human & legal rights be made void below the age of 18.:D

A friend of mine was walking through UCD, when some scobes tried to egg him from their car, missing him and hitting the pavement. It was the same guys, who had succesfully egged us a week previously.

So, my friend, picked up a rock and threw it at the car, smashing the rear light.

He ran like hell afterwards, but it's always good to see some justice.

afair, scummers in the secondary school that I went to never bought eggs, they robbed them. It was tradition to get egged and floured also on a persons b.day. But they where kind enough to wait till the end of the day before doing it so you wouldn't get the day off school for being covered in egg.

In fairness OP, it could of been a lot worse, they could of thrown a rock at your head, which they could find anywhere for free.

Moral of the story: don't use public transport in tallaght

This whole topic reminded me of something my boss was telling me last year...he was down in Dublin for a gaelic match, went on the slaughter afterwards with some mates. On leaving the pub, he was staggering down the road and stopped at a bus shelter to light a smoke...while trying to light it, a car drove up and someone threw an egg at him...he ducked and it hit the glass of the shelter. "Ya's missed ya's f*ckin' scum" he shouted at them as they tore off up the road, and off he went down the road to his B&B laughing away.
So he get's up the next morning, fires on his clothes and away to meet his woman in town...when he meets her, she asks him with a funny look, what was he up to last night..."Nothing, why?" he says...."Well what the hell is that on the back of your jacket?" said she...he takes it off and there's dried egg the whole way down it...he reckons it must have hit the glass and splashed onto him or that he leaned back against it or something. He was raging, especially after thinking they'd missed, and after wandering around Dublin for an hour with the jacket the way it was. Eejit.

My expericence with this egg throwing is one night I was fairly bladdered walkin hm from the boozer, I was on the flyover in my area and someone milled me with an egg, luckily it bounced off my chest and broke on the ground, so it was a simple throw them the finger and laughed, they turned round and tried again and missed again, cretins!
