    Hey,

My '00 VW Bora needs its 60,000 mile service. This will consist of timing belt change as well as the normal service.

Think a CV joint is gone too so will need that replaced.

Just wondering if any of you kind people know of a good, reputable, and non-expensive garage where I can get this done?

VW dealers seem to be very expensive but on the otherhand I dont want to go to some shister mechanic working out of his shed.

    Any suggestions?

    Preferably in the Swords/Baldoyle/Clontarf areas.

Why not put a review of him up on www.recommendagarage.ie? Trying to build up list of garages/mechanics just like this.. and you could win a €100 voucher!!! ;)

if you buy your parts i will change them for you at cheapest price!I can even replace them in front of your house.I have Bora and i change it my self.No need to go to garage.Having said that it doesn't really matter which car you have.I will figure it out once i open the bonnet.I use to build cars from scrap yard back home.

Was searching for an Independent on the Northside and found this thread while searching. I think its a great idea for a site so am bumping the thread.

Obvioulsy it will only be as good as the amout of info input but I will add my findings after my next service and would encourage all to do similar.

It would be great to have an online resource for independent specialist or recommended garages for older cars rather than main dealers.
