The company I work for is in the Shannon Free Zone.

Now, we need to take on a Contractor to help manage capital projects.

First, will they need to charge us VAT and if so is it irrecoverable because it's capital?

    Would appreciate the advice.

    Thanks
    S

Do you have 13a/ 13b number??? if so as far as I know that would exempt you from VAT, ie, you should provide the 13a number to your subcontractor and not VAT should apply (please check that the 13a/b was granted for the actual Project
