Ok, I started out here about 6 months ago and got some great advice on my first PC build, but back then I was not intrested in gaming.........

BUT THEN I GOT THE GAME BUG :D Call Of Duty 4 to be precise.
I just can't get enough of it now.

Now I'm back and seeking some advice on which graphics card to get.

My original PC spec is as follows:
    1 Seasonic S12 Powersupply 600W, 120mm Fan, 6xSATA, ATX/EPS, 2xPCI-E, 20/24pin
1 Antec Performance One P180 Miditower, Black, Aluminum (Without PSU)
    1 Gainward GeForce 8500GT 256MB DDR2, PCI-Express, DVI/Tv-Out, SilentFX
    1 Western Digital Raptor 150GB SATA 16MB 10000RPM
1 Thermaltake BigTyp 120 VX CPU Cooler, 16-24dBA, Socket 775/754/939/AM2
2 NEC DVD±RW burner AD-7170S, SATA, Black (bulk)
    2 Samsung SpinPoint T166 500GB SATA2 16MB 7200RPM
    1 Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz Socket LGA775, 4MB, BOXED w/fan
    1 Asus P5B DLX/WIFI-AP, P965, Socket-775, ATX, 2xGbLAN, SATAII, Firewire, PCI-Ex16
    2 OCZ Gold DDR2 PC6400 2048MB KIT, w/two 1024MB PC6400 XTC,CL4-5-5-15, Rev2

As you casn see, the graphics card is the bottle neck here.

If I wanted to spend about €400, what graphics card would you guys advise?
I guess it would be a 8800 series, but there are soooo many.

And how do these 2 x cards work (http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=340100), are these for dual moitors or do they act like a dual core processor and increase the performance on a single monitor?

    Thanks in advance guys...

Steer clear of that, crap price to be honest. Komplett are a bit of a joke lately.

    What size is your monitor?

1280x1024 downwards: HD3850, ranges from 140-160 euro. Or for Nvidia, 256mb 8800GT, ranging from 150-180.

    1440x900-1680x1050: HD3870, ranges from 190-220

    1680x1050+: 8800GT, or better performing 512mb 8800GTS.

Any of the cards listed will max out Call of Duty 4 easily at the resolutions listed beside them. Dabs do the best prices on most of them, have a 3870 with free Opposing Fronts for 195, 8800GT for 226, 512mb 8800GTS for 260, etc...

3850 prices are about the same everywhere...

I've got a 20" Sony Trinitron flatscreen (two actually, I need them for photoshop etc), I think it can go up to 1600 x 1200, but that might just be the limitation of the Graphics card I have.

PS, just noticed thet the Euro/Sterling exchange rate is now just 1.37 ....wow, it's time to buy in sterling.
