the only sub forum i cant access on this site is my own city's sub forum

- the Cork City forum.

Is this part of some sick joke?
Great example the mods are setting by dissalowing people from that region to view their own forum. :rolleyes:

People were showing a lot of discrimation against a certain group of people,
A group who were memebers of a well known Cork website & forum of which i am also a member of.

Its the discriminators i addressed as gayers yes, not everyone.

Now i cant see why these discriminators did not get banned, and one discriminating comment from myself, constituted a ban.

Indeed Roundy showed some discrimination himself, by picking on the minority.

This issue stems from a long standing and retarded rivalry between PROC (Peoples
RepublicofCork.com) and the Cork forum.

They enjoy such intellectual pursuits as shite bombing third party sites and calling each other cunts.

My approach is, they leave us alone, and we leave them alone. A note to this effect was added to the charter there last night, again, before I saw this. The PROCers were antagonised by posts on the Cork City forum, which again is now a breach of that forum's rules.

Bans will not be applied in retrospect for this, but personal abuse bans (like yours) will stand unless I can be convinced otherwise.

I think the fact that some of the more long term users on PROC are pissed off with the place says more about it than I can, but that's their own business.

Anyone throwing shapes from either side of the divide will henceforth be removed from the category, and I trust that puts an end to it.

I would imagine that the owners of boards.ie would probably state that, membership to the forums is a priviledge not a "right", and within that "priviledge" we agree to obide by the rules.

If i was a mod on here, i would certainly have banned each person insulting others on that thread, as it is prohibited by the board rules.
I certainly wouldnt have picked up the minority, by banning just onw individual.
Especially when that individual did not start the confrontation in the first place.

No, I mean, if you felt that people should have been banned (and would have banned them if you were a mod) then you as a user would have reported the threads to the moderator.

Mods don't have to follow a certain procedure to ban people on the forum they moderate, they are trusted by the admins for their judgement skills. Any quibbles can be taken up with Admins/Higher Mods here or on Helpdesk. As happened in this thread.

Tbh i didnt know that those comments, and my comment would of constituted a ban at the time.

I suppose if it happened again i would report them if them, if it was me who was affected.

I think it should be upto the one whos insulted to decide wether it should be reported or not, unless it was an extreme breach of conduct such as racism, or discrimination of the highest order, or leaking their personal info illegally without permission.

For petit coments like the ones in that thread, i would feel like a "rat" reporting people, because i did not think the mods could ban them for comments that small, or comments like "gayers".

But anyway its being an interesting of discussing morals i have to say.

This is a moot discussion now anyway, since the owner of the site has upheld my decision. Anyway some of your points bear response, since you appear to be deliberately missing the point in relation to some of my remarks here.

I drew attention to your PROC posts (apparently we're all ****, not just some of us) because you expressed there precisely why you were banned, making your bemusement a blatant lie. You can post paedo pics over there for all we care, it is not our concern.

If you felt so strongly about mooted bans being required, why did you not report the posts so that they could be dealt with, as has been indicated to you?

If I was to report every post and await an admin response before actioning, both they, and I would get nothing done, and in that event, was would the point be in having forum mods?

It's irrelevant now, but I don't recall you offering an apology, I did say that one was not as necessary as an undertaking not to cause further hassle down the line.

You provided neither, but attempted to muddy the waters by putting your own interpretation on events, and asking questions that you already knew the answer to, that had been answered but ignored by you, or that didn't need asking in the first place.

Bottom line, I don't believe you'll behave, in fact I think you'll have a good laugh over the road with the biys, and call us all uptight **** or something.

Shame, all this could have been avoided if you didn't let things go to your head, and behave with a little open mindedness yourself when all this kicked off.
