Let vent - what was the biggest pile of muck released last year? What movie made you want to burn the cinema down afterwards, to prevent anyone else being contaminated by celluloid crap? Nominate here!

To be eligible, the film must have been released on Irish cinema screens between 1/1/2007-18/1/2008 (inclusive). Each voter can only nominate a maximum of two titles for this category. Any further nominations shall be ignored.

August Rush - easily the worst piece of celluloid I've had to sit through this year. Most movies are bad for one reason but this movie had everything:

1. Robin Williams - he stopped making good movies back in the early '90s but no-one told the producers of this one.

2. A contrived, silly story about an orphan who looks for his parents with lots and lots of syrup. It's a bad Shirley Temple movie for the noughties.

3. Plenty of cliched scenes - characters looking up to the sky with arms outstretched, the music sequences, characters meeting up by chance.

4. A pathetic sense in the movie that it was a future Oscar winner.

5. Lots of sly references to far better movies :Oliver!, Days Of Heaven, Forrest Gump.

6. A lot of hype before release with full-page articles on the overrated director in the Irish papers.

7. The way each major character appears to be in a different movie!

POTC3, Spiderman 3 and Southland Tales

All three suffered from the same ailment: too much bloat, not enough substance, ending up with an excruciating pile of dung where bombastic entertainment should have been.

Alot of meandering in this year's films. Perhaps a sign of the times?

THREE ****ING HUNDRED!!!!!!!!!!

3 odd hours of near plotless CGI combined with a script that was all of three pages long. A truly shockingly awful film for the same type of vegtables who think The Matrix was good (and in fairness at least The Matrix had a script, and some contrived god awful plot that some people thought was out there, innovative, left of field and quite unique. 300 didnt really seem to have a plot).

How it was rated by anyone is shocking enough. UCI- give me my ****ing tenner back. Popcorn and coke while watching it? I think acid tabs might be more suitable to enjoying the experience. Cack, utter cack.

I thankfully have not seen PS I Love You, the accent in the trailer was jaw droppingly awful.

Simpsons Movie was, on reflection, average but nowhere near the worst. American Gangster was ok but disappointing in terms of the hype around it, although Id probably watch it again on tv.
