Ah so they're not in control at all. Pheww. I was worried there.

If you have a look into the area of population demographics you may understand the error you are making.

Fair enough, but that still doesn't explain why you need government backing to set up a website.

Please, explain what government backing is needed in setting up a website.

See my previous post, and also I imagine your definition of governement varies greatly from mine.

And another issue, you appear to have a crazy amount of personal information connected to your profile.

Not shut you down, guide you. Once again people are underestimating the forces at work here.
Same thing though. You're saying that unless the government guide the content of your site, then your site will be guided by them?

I think you're overestimating the competence and intelligence of the Irish government tbh. boards.ie has no government "backing" or "guidance" and it's pretty big in the Irish scheme of things.

I imagine we differ on a lot of things. That post above doesn't explain why you can't just buy a hosting package and set up a website. All it says is that eventually after the site has gotten extremely popular the government will censor you.

Now, if the government hasn't censored your posts here (remember that boards.ie is one of the examples you used above) then why would they censor you when you set up your own site?

If you did set up a website, what makes you think it would be one of the most popular sites in Ireland?

Again, as I have said before, there are no mistakes in politics. You need to look at outcomes when analysing events.

As for overestimating intelligence of the government, I wish I had the intelligence to set up a system where just 2 million people work for me, pay me taxes on everything they buy, whenever they travel, when they heat their houses and on and on. Was it sun tzu who said, when you are strong appear weak.

...ok, checked that. But I couldn't see anything to suggest they are in or out of control. If they are spraying, I reckon they are in control and can pull that off. ...only, if they are in control why would they do it unless they were loosing control. Ahh, that's it. They are only just barely in control and need to kill off some of the population.... kinda like lemming overlords. Who'd-a thunk.

Popularity all boils down to media exposure. Sure you will throw back some example of a "cult" site, but in the main exposure is always required for success.

It was never about censoring posts, but gathering information.

The current guys didn't set it up, they merely took over because we decided they should. Also, it's not like all the tax money goes into Berties back pocket.

Populations expand at an exponential rate, that was the point I was making. Are you aware that in the past it was common for overlordsto plan wars between themselves to slaughter what they would refer to as the plebs. This was especially popular on the smaller islands in the mediterranean where only a limited land mass existed on which to support agriculture.

So, you are saying, the reason you can't set up a site is because it wouldn't be popular enough. Would I be correct? That must say something to you surely?

People make mistakes, thousands of people focused on the same goal do not.

As for the current politicians, they are taking over the reins so to speak. Government have existed from the start of civilisation.

Funny, what year is it, 2008?

I could have refuted that point about the chip had it been 2012.

You don't remain popular by having words with Oscar. It just isn't done.

Yes they do. Look at any major corporation that has gone bankrupt or a merger that has affected both companies negatively. Look at any movie that cost hundreds of millions that bombed at the box office. People are fallible, just because there are many focused on the one goal doesn't stop that.

Yep but only because we asked them to. We could have easily voted in some other party.

ALL the parties are the same, they carry out a set agenda.

As for coroprations and bankrupcy. Have a look into the practice of short selling. Company capital does not disappear. If you lose someone gains, look at eircom, I personally know one of the main benefactors of that whole scam.

Whats that old saying, follow the money.

    I don't think so.

Yes but the thousands of people that work for that company want it to succeed because if it doesn't then they lose jobs, money, etc. They focused on the goal of making the company succeed. They failed. Therefore that proves that people are fallible even in large groups and when they are focused on the same goals.

The people did not fail, they had the rug pulled from under them. So what happened to all manufacturing in the developed world. Did every skilled craftsman suddently forget his craft. No, the industry left for among other things, cheaper labour in asia.

So in politics the government could have the rug pulled out from under them, right? But you said that in politics there are no mistakes.

You didn't answer my first question. If someone sets up there own political party, why would they be part of this set agenda?

I told you before, what you see as a mistake, is not a mistake in the eyes of the benefactors.
