Tignes

Just back from my first snow holiday ever in Tignes and.....wow. I'm hooked on snow! My mate won the holiday and brought me along and for a holiday that I'd never in a million years have thought of going on myself I'm already trying to sort one out for this time next year.

None of us had ever been in the snow before and after much humming and hawing we decided to snowboard for the week instead of skiing. Its unbelievable. I was so bad the first day (arsing it down slopes, not able to stand up) I wanted to come home but its amazing how it just comes to you. By the end of the week the instructer was giving me the intermediate lessons.

I loved Tignes, beautiful resort and loads of slopes to choose from - You can do a lap of the resort via the slopes! Pretty expensive to eat there but as with all snow resorts this is par for the course or so I've been told.

Anyway, sorry for rambling on but I just wanted to alert all you boardsies considering a snow holiday....Tignes is the place!

    Allez Tignes :)

Its beside Val d'Isère in France. I'm off to Tignes in 3 weeks and can't wait.

    Was it busy?

We actually boarded to Val D'Isere and back one of the days. The little red and blue signs that we kept seeing on the slopes, I thought they were the distances to the bottom of the slope. You should have seen my instructor when I asked him.... doh :o

The resort wasn't busy, but then I have nothing to compare it too. Put it this way, we only had to queue for a chairlift 3 times and there were a couple of times in the Afternoon where myself and my mate more or less had the Fresse slope to ourselves (Although the weather was cat at those times - blizzardy)
