I am studying IATI at the mo in Blanchardstown IT.
The good thing about the IATI is its a foundation to build up to be CA or what ever you want to do.
If you are doing it full time you would be better off doing a diploma in accounting and finance. I say this because IATI is regarded as the lowest level of accounting qualification and unless your fully qualified it does not look good to employers. A diploma looks a lot better.
You will also be granted exceptions if you get your diploma and then choose to do any other accounting course (IATI ACCA ACA etc)

Another thing to be aware of the IATI is the fees.
Books = 200. Annual sub and reg=200. Exams =300 Must be paid..
Then the option to go to seminars 300 x 2= 600
So including college you will be paying from 1300-2000 Euro.

Also if you are doing it part-time you must have at least 2 years accounting work experience before you become a full technician. Where as with a diploma you get your qualification at the end not need for this bulls***. Which is a joke because not many places will hire your unless you have a full qualification.

    Hope this helps.
