Only worth it if it's the DDR3 model, if its 512mb of DDR2 then it's worthless - even 512mb of DDR3 on such a card isn't going to be utilized very well. Unless you're getting it for a very good price, Komplett have a POV 256mb DDR3 8600GT for 99 euro. Any cheaper is liable to be a DDR2 model, and anything more expensive is edging too close to the mid range budget cards to make it economical.

Call of Duty 4 would work fine at 1280x1024 downwards, high settings, Crysis...well, not quite so well, but that's a major exception to the hardware friendly nature of games in general at the moment. I reckon to really enjoy Crysis at a reasonable level of quality, you'd want to be looking at the HD3850at a minimum. But that said, it should run at 1280x1024 medium-ish...

If you want to play Crysis without a headache you'll need a 8800 tbh, a 512MB DDR3 8600GT might run Crysis medium/low, but mightened be good enough to get consistantly ok framerates :P
