Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi People,

I am setting up a small sideline internet business.
I still have my day job, but I want a phone that I can access my internet business e-mails on, and also be able to check in on my website to see if there is any orders or activity during the day, (I obviously cannot use my work hardware for personal business purposes).

Also, I want to be able to make and receive calls and text messages.

Can anyone recommend a phone that will work for me that is also reasonably portable and easy to live with.

I am not sure on budget, but I have some contacts in both Meteor and O2 through my day job, so I may get a good deal.

    Thanks,
    P.

Maybe try something like the NOKia e50? It's pretty slimline and supports Blackberry and POP3 email. Also has a web browser which should browse most websites, but anything fancy may not contain full formatting and obviously things like flash etc won't work.
It's only got Edge for web browsing but for a few basic emails and a basic ordering system that should be grand.

    Worth a look maybe ..

Thanks guys, O2 have that phone on their website.

Someone else was recommending an n95, it seems alot more expensive.

I did a compare on pnokias website of the e65, 6110Nav & n70. These all seem to do what I need.

    Any thoughts?

Do NOT get an n70. not a fantastic phone.

I have the e65, no problems what so ever, great battery life, slimline, and has everything you need, with expandable memory also.

I have been using the e61 for a while now and find it superb. it can view and edit office docs and also it has wifi as well. might be handy and has the full qwerty keyboard that is really usable.

Vodafone seem to do better business rates than o2 if you are getting a business package

Thanks for the advice guys, I am checking out the e61 and Vodafones packages. (I have a good working relationship with O2 at the minute so get good rates)

Do any of these units have 'push e-mail' like Blackberry?

there are many good things to be said about the e65 but battery life isn't one of them. Mine lasts about a day and a half at most

Try an E51, the newer version of the E50. Much better phone, has built-in WiFi, great screen and excellent battery life. Has Mail for Exchange support and support for lots of third party apps.

avoid the e50, I have one. On my fourth one now, due for another. Murder with car kit. Try the e51. Later and greater with most of the e50 problems ironed out.
