A friend of mine had his Q7 stolen last night from outside his house.

The house was broken into and keys taken as is usual in these situations.

The reg is 07 MH 759 and its Gun Barrel Grey in color.

If anyone spots it around please call the Garda. Thanks.

Will keep and eye out. Was the reg standard or did the "0" in the 07 look like a Q?

    Where was it stolen from?

Did that Q7 have the fancy style reg plates as I saw one around Ballymount on Sunday night with the "Fast & Furious" Brigade

I know that but I nearly got taken out of it on Sunday night by these toss pots and they do sometimes attract the wrong crowd so he could have been followed home by them if he was in the area. The Q7 one I saw had tinted windows and some advertisement for some 4x4 garage in Blancherstown and it looked the business

Possibly too late, but I'd ring English customs at the ferry docks to get them to look out for it.
In any case, let it go, he'll get the full value from the insurance that way, rather than a damaged Q7 back.

It was taken from the Dunboyne / Summerhill direction.

I take it that it's a passenger model and not the commercial?

Is it still listed as missing Vevex? If so I can send a circular to all Audi Ireland dealers asking them to contact Gardai should they spot it. Let me know sure.

I saw one this evening in Coolock matching the description but with a '08 W' reg. Just tried to check it on cartell now and they dont seem to have any 08 reg'd cars up yet so I cant verify what I saw.

My brother had his Cayenne taken in the exact same way from his house in Bettystown. The guards found it a few days later just parked up without a scratch in an estate in Blanchardstown and promptly had it towed it back to Gannon's, the thieves weren't found. So you friend shouldn't give up all hope yet.

The funny thing was that a week later, after having the central locking redone and new keys, they came back and tried to get the car open with the key they had previously robbed!!! My brother (staying up to watch snooker at 2am) watched the muttonheads while they couldn't understand why the car wouldn't unlock. When he ran out they just sped off in an Escort. They have some cheek trying to re-rob a car, huh?!

Brave man. People who steal high end stuff don't exactly just carry their wits with them.

I agree. Unlike his baby brother, he is quite an aggressive bloke. In situations like that he acts first, thinks later. Surprisingly enough though the were only a pack of bum-fluff moustached, track-suit wearing, short-stack skanger youngfellas... although nothing should really suprise these days. I would have thought this would be a pretty ambitious heist for that species of bonehead.

    .

How did they break into the house without the alarm going off?

In fairness Id say they were told to go get it or they would have their ronnie forceably removed

The real people behind this stuff rarely get their hands dirty.

Windows can be removed without the sensors going off. The best thing to do is to have the motion sensors installedd in the house.

Apparently the new trend is to steal the keys and take the car, park it somewhere randomly, and leave it for a couple of days. If the cops find it soon, then it has a tracker and they'll leave it. If it takes the cops a while to find it, as in a few days, then it hasn't, so obviously they were going back for it.
