Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

O Wonderous people of the After Hours board, I was wondering if you could explain why there are 3 LED displays on O'Connell street showing a walking person? I have noticed them over the last couple of days and now I am curious.

    Thanks

Limerick culture is just two old men driving around in a tractor on a Saturday eating ice-creams and listening to the Wolf Tones

That's correct but it's not in Dublin. It's in Limerick.
There is no O'Connell St in Dublin, there is an O'Connell St Upper and an O'Connell St Lower but no O'Connell St. ;)

/edit -- That said there are two O'Connell Bridges.

When I see somebody post a comment about a street in Dublin without saying its in Dublin I count the seconds until a country gentleperson replies, oh you mean limerick/ is that the one in Cork etc. Usually I dont have to wait long.

I remember giving my phone number to gas/esb cant remember which and yer woman interrupted with a roar "is that 01"? I replied that yes it was and I always forget the 01. "Yeah you lot always do" was the lovely customer servicy reply.

I think the general rule is - assume people are talking Dublin unless otherwise specified.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,183 ✭✭✭Peared

I know Tusky, and I think the country folk do too. But they like asking if its somewhere else to point out to Dubs that they are not the only people in the country. Happens every time.
