Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

98fm Breakfast Show Quiz

    I only hear about 15 minutes of this show as the station is set on my clock radio for when I get up in the mornings. Recently they have added a challenge. Basically a kid rings up and gets asked 3 questions like "What colour is grass" and other sh1te like that. Then one of the presenters is asked 3 different questions. The one with the most correct answers wins. The kid always wins. But the other day one of the presenters won. Apparently there was uproar. Now having listened to this show for a while "uproar" probably means 2 texts from auld ones going "Ah jaysus would ya not let the child win". So the next day they have the same kid on the line for a rematch where he wins.

    I dont know why this bugs me, but it really does. A few years ago when Ant and Dec were hosting their kids show SM:TV they had an almost identical item. The kid would challenge Ant. The thing here was that Ant tried to win every week. And on average he beat the kid more often than not. And the kids always accepted it. It was always funny and Ant always spun it like he was delighted and would crow over his victory. On the 98fm show you have 3 presenters. Whenever the girl is chosen for the challenge she always throws it in the most obvious style:

    Question: What noise does a dog make?
    Woman: Oh God, oh I know this, oh you're going to think i'm so stupid. Is it Miaow?

    Kids arent stupid, this whole thing is patronising to the extreme. Maybe I should just set the clock radio to beep instead of turning on the radio.

    Complete PR stunt - Colm and Jim did the same thing on April 1st 2 or 3 years ago with their 'kids in the car' feature.

    Nothing original in radio but 98FM take it to a whole new level :D
