problem with smart or host

    A certain times of day certain websites aren't available. I ran a traceroute which ends after hop 5. Is this a problem with Smart's routing or somewhere else? The website is available from other isps so I suspect it's Smart at fault.

    I can ping it, but can't traceroute to it. Doesn't look like a Smart problem.

    Hmm, I tracerted from my Smart connection and it went through fine, albeit the last host apparently has a hostname of just ".".

    Thanks for the responses. The funny thing is that If I use http://anonymizer.nntime.com/ and enter the ip the website loads fine but directly from my smart account it doesn't :( I still don't know if it's smart or the hosting company :(

    Should have mentioned that while traceroute doesn't work for me, mtr does. I can open that website, shows an Apache/CP/WHM fresh install page.

    What conclusion do I draw? I think it's a smart routing problem but who knows.

    I don't think it's Smart's routing that's at fault. It's getting beyond their network at least.

    Doing a trace route on Smart I get ther following

    Also if I enter the ip address into a browser I get the aforementioned Apache WebServer page which would suggest that the site is not working properly.

    I also tried a trace route using http://www.nwtools.net and get the following results

    Using the anonymous proxy site mentioned above the Apache page displays as well.

    So I guess that the website is the issue here.

    What other sites do you have issues with?

    ahh, for some reason the routing on the router was screwed up. A reset of the router resolved it.
