Tom Dunne gave me a heads up. I'll be there. We have friends visiting from NZ but they don't arrive until about 10pm so I'll be drinking with you til then.

    Can't wait!

Bring them along, we'll be nice to them!

If anyone has any suggestions for venues let us know. We have a couple of places in mind but someone might have somewhere better.

We are now averaging one Beers a month.

At least we live up to the image.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers, Registered Users 2 Posts: 47,343 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

Can we make it a dozen for the year? :D

And to think we're accused of being anti-social because we keep missing the main Boards beers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,949 ✭✭✭trout

I'm on for beers. Good fun is shure to be had by all. Oh yes. Even people from Leitrim. ;)

My credit with mrs trout is very high at the minute, so I will make the most of it.

I'm easy with regards to venue ... I didn't like Messrs all that much, but it was very handy to get to, and very easy to get served. I thought the Long Stone was excellent, but quite busy. Snugs ftw!

I've suggested this to the other half. I'd imagine the random kiwis would be up for it. How would I tell them I know you all? Could be interesting!

O'Neills on Suffolk Street could be good? If you get in early enough you could get that snug part as you walk in the door.

Well, I'll be there anyway. With my Camera, so I'll be expecting at least one pic for the calendar.

Bring them! Please, I love the way they talk.

    Are they a sekrit?

I'd mention The Czech Inn myself. I think they do food, but I'm not sure about the reserving of seats. I think it gets fairly busy.

Anywhere really, once it's not one of them "superpubs" like Zanzibar or D2 or something.

Although, just one for the future, but it popped into my head now.

We might consider D2 in the summer, they have a BBQ in the beer garden of a Friday.

Think The Czech Inn might be venue alright. I will book it :)

I was going to remind you of the camera Des :D

That was one we thought of. Never been there myself so don't know what the deal is with reserving spots.

Now would we do that to you? Or worse, ourselves?

Good call. Dicey Riley's also on Harcourt Street have a BBQ as well.

I should be able to make it along if I haven't slashed my wrists in a moment of desperate loneliness the evening before...

What's happening the night before that would do that to you Brother Fudge?

    HAha.. I'm just joking....

I'll be cooking Mrs. Cheeky a romantic home cooked meal the night before.

I can't take her out to eat in restaurants anymore as last time she collapsed face first in her soup and not wanting to cause a fuss I escaped out the bathroom window.

Looks like I'll be coming but bringing 4 kiwis in tow. Hope this is ok with everyone. I went to Belfast for a weekend with said kiwis and we had a crap night. I promised them that Dublin was a lot better so I'm under pressure to show them a good time. I think the BGRH regulars are probably good for that!:D

    Have they left NZ yet?

If they haven't, could they be persuaded to bring some beer with them?;)

I'll welcome them anyway, just to hear them talk. I will be asking them to say fush.

Well then, the BGRH Beers will be the place to be!

Of course. We always have a cracking night out.

Sorry DesF, they're living in London, they can't bring you any Monteith's!

Glad I can rely on the BGRH regulars to show people a good night!

It's funny. One of our mates name is Clint, but he's a kiwi so it's really Clunt!

Will they be talking rugby ?
Are they chicks or dudes, or chicks AND dudes ?
    Are they couples ?
    Can we flirt ?
What have you told them about us ? Did you mention any *ahem* special factors ?

Clint == Clunt ... Oh dear

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,367 ✭✭✭✭watna

There's three blokes (one being my other half) and one girl. None of the others are couples so you can flirt away with the token girl if you want. She's very nice. I promise I won't tell Mrs Trout!

They're typical kiwis.. will talk about anything to anybody! I'm sure you can have some good rugby conversations.

I haven't said anything about how I know you guys. Would the truth be too weird?

Just tell 'em we're all part of a bondage/leather/wife swapping swingers network, and then clam up and pretend you never said anything of the sort.

My own flirtin' days are over ... I am blissfully happy with mrs trout, and not at all in awe of her arcane and mysterious powers ;)

Hmmmm ... do they know about Monkeyfudge and the cock rings

Taupo is the cheapest place in the world to do it.

Absolutely brilliant, best thing I ever did. :)

Yep, it was my first jump, so you need an instructor with you.

He was the New Zealand Champion Skydiver, and was able to do all these loops and upside down tricks. Very cool.

That's his job. He does about six or eight jumps a day :eek:

Can this thread have an attendance poll added perhaps? To see what numbers will be like, before we reserve a place?

I know the last two had between 10 and twelve people.

I reckon we'd be expecting more this time, with watna and her crew coming...

    I prefer the term "posse"!

They won't be there til at least 10pm though. At that stage, we'll be well-oiled enough to not carea bout numbers!
