Is this not meant to come with a new 360, or have they done away with that offer?

Was kind of hoping to not have to worry about it for a while...

maybe I'm an idiot and have missed something blindingly obvious that says free xbox live here, but I don't think so

Why would MS get rid of the month trial, if I hadn't played online before it would be the thing to get me hooked

Just sign up for a silver account, then they'll give it to you.

I didnt get a free month trial with my new 360 received @ xmas, :@ . I just baught the 12+1 ebay live deal for 44 quid, works grand, also i will point out, going into account options once signed up for live told me I only had "Silver" and microsoft gave me two of the same card saying "Sign up for live and get a month free" in the box, didnt happen though :P

Have you tried contacting microsoft, I was just too lazy too... As a ad came in the box making you allowed to get a free month I'm guessing microsoft will give you one, mite be worth firing off a email to em, prob wont get a correspondence till monday though :P

They e mailed back saying to ring customer support. I did.

Customer support said that since I got a gamercard/tag whatever it is over the computer internet (I wanted a keyboard for all those bloody forms) and not the xbox dashboard, I can't get my free month. Scum. 4 days of xbox ownership and already problems. I expect red rings by tomorrow.

Microsoft just made an utterly powerless enemy. The worst kind of enemy. (think Gandhi, but with no resolve, determination or intelligence)

They're getting a disgruntled e mail demanding a free month. added to the three I'll buy today. ...............

There are quite a few threads on here regarding this subject.

You could always create a new gamertag and get your one month free. The fact that you signed up incorrectly is not Microsofts fault.

just select a gold membership and it will detect that your eligible for a months free

Well thats why I didnt get mine aswell, hell microsoft are scumbags, I actually had an account created (Did it in college one day bored b4 I got 360 dunno why), I just logged into that and activated it on the console :P

Before anyone buys this and then starts bitching about MS again, these 12+1 subs are only valid for new accounts. Any gamertags that have already had a sub can not use these.

The Manuals that are supplied with the XBox 360 are totally uninformative about how you redeem your free months trial.
Although my friend has an Xbox and had a problem with getting his free months trial he straight away signed up for silver and didnt get the months free so he had a bit of an angry email feud with them and they said that he would be emailed a redeem code for 3 months free instead and he was sent it two hours after the email informing had been sent. So fair play to them even if they are money grabbing mothers.

I think he resells the halo 3 bonus live packs man, I doubht a keygen would work, as if microsoft have any cop, any key processed for sale will be added to a database and checked with database when activated (Like vistas activation scheme)
