My skillet is tiny - Where do I get a 13 or 14"?

I got my skillet during the week. Advertised as 10.5 it is about 10". I thought 10.5 was very big. I never checked it out before buying with a tape or anything.

I am now on the lookout for a larger one. The one I have now will be held onto. I'm sure it will come in handy -especially until I can source a larger one.

I have been looking over Lodge manufacturing

I understand these to be a highly rated cast iron cookware company as I saw them being used in a good book. The max size they appear to have is 12" (or 17" which is too big) I was hoping for a 13 or 14" one just for that extra bit of space should you need it!

Anyone know where I could get one thats 13 or 14"?

Chef friend of mine recommended this crowd.
I buy all my pans from them and I would also highly recommend them.

I got mine there but the largest they have is the one I bought. Way too small.

Google Bourgeat frying pans. They make non-stick pans that are frankly far cheaper than you'd believe and far better in the kitchen. Here's a site: http://www.cookware-uk.co.uk/BrowseCategories.php?cid=44 and they will ship to Ireland, but delivery costs will be quoted depending on what you're buying.

I have three bourgeat pans in various sizes, including one very large - maybe the 32cm one, I'm not sure. I got mine as a present from Minder, who has about 10 of them in ranging sizes.

The non-stick coating is excellent quality and lasts a long time if you're good to it. They distribute heat evenly and are a nice weight - especially for pan frying things like fish fillets. If you use them on gas they heat quickly but also lose heat quickly, which is good if you're working with delicate ingredients that you don't want to overcook (if you take a cast iron pan off the heat it will continue to cook whatever's in it - these won't).

Just don't put them in the dishwasher, because it ruins the handles.

If you want something for pan frying scallops, fish fillets or prawns, making breakfast pancakes, dry-frying an egg - anything where you want a very delicate cooking time so when it's done it's done - these are fab.
