eden quay tonight

just arrive home in a taxi and eden quay was blocked by gardai from top to end .... looks like something serious, but couldn't see a crashed car etc .... no pedestrians seemed to be allowed by either, can anyone elaborate ? cant find anything online

There were Garda checkpoints at least as far down as Queen Street last night - I passed by one on my way home just after midnight. I thought at the time it was a drink-driving checkpoint and wondered why they needed so many guards for it
